Temple (nameless) Cake Recepie


3/4 cup shortening
3/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
3 eggs
2 Tblsp cocoa
1 3/4 cup flower
3/4 cup sour milk
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp lemon extract
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup chopped nuts

    Cream shortening, add sugar gradually, cream thouroughly.  Blend in 3 well beaten eggs.  Sift flower, baking powder, soda, salt/spices and cocoa and add to creamed mixture; alternatively with sour milk.  Blend in flavorings and nuts.  Bake 30 mintutes at 350 degrees F.


Icing

6 Tbl. Butter
1 1/2 Tbl. Cocoa
1 Egg Yolk
1 tsp. Cinnamon
3 Cups Powdered Sugar
1 1/2 Tbl. Hot Coffee

Cream butter and blend in egg yolk.  Sift sugar, cocoa and cinnamon into creamed mixture alternatively with coffee.  If necessary, add a few more drops of coffee.
